This WebQuest was created for kindergarten students at North Harnett Primary School (NHPS), Harnett County, North Carolina. According to a 2013 North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) report, there are 159 students in kindergarten at NHPS. Out of that total, 52.83% are female and 47.17% are male (NCDPI, 2013). The ethnicities of the kindergarten students include the following: 46.54% are Hispanic, 6.92% are Black, 42.77% are White, and 3.77% are of two or more ethnicities (NCDPI, 2013).
Previous knowledge that students should have to complete this WebQuest includes
a general understanding of what a cat is;
a general understanding of how websites work; and
basic mouse skills (left clicks).
